VIP@Uni: University InSight podcast

Hi everyone, this is Sofia writing (I'm the editor of this website).

I'm really excited to tell you about a project I have been working on for the past few months. I've been thinking a lot about how we can expand the content of this website to find new ways to help and inspire people with visual impairments to study at university. The result is a podcast! It's called University InSight, and you can find it at SoundCloud on this link: https://soundcloud.com/user-159952878

In each podcast episode, I interview a visually impaired student about their experiences of studying at university. At the time of writing, we have three episodes out. Two of them are with current VIP@University writers Dániel and Nathan, and the third is with Dr Sarah Leiter about studying medicine with a visual impairment.

My goal is to publish one episode roughly every month, and I already have a few episodes lined up in the pipeline. If you have a visual impairment and have studied or are studying at university, I would love to hear from you about your experiences. Please email me on vipatuni@gmail.com, or tag us on Twitter with the handle @vipatuni.

My ambition for the future is to expand the scope of the podcast to include support staff at university, as well as interviewing visually impaired academics about their experiences from doing a PhD to working as a lecturer at university. If there are topics that you'd like to hear about that I haven't mentioned hear or that we haven't covered yet, please reach out to me or to the other writers and tell us about it.

All the best,

Sofia
